From 14 October 2014 to 08 February 2015
From 14 October 2014 Until 08 February 2015, the historic Galerie Nationale du Jeu de Paume, in Paris, welcomes you to the photography exhibition of the man who "photographed to to see what the world looks like in photographs", Garry Winogrand.
“No one moment is most important. Any moment can be something.”
Garry Winogrand (1928-1984) was a passionate traveller, and went all over around the United States. After the World War II, he underlined the paradoxes of America’s way of life, depicting its beauty as well as its ferocity. He did most of his brilliant work in Manhattan, during the 60’s, a decade he witnessed and brightly described.
He was, and still is, one of the few photographers that have done it. In his hands, photography was innovative, creative and beautiful. He proved how photography could sit as the most prestigious of the fine arts.
