The French photographer Valérie Belin is honored at the Centre Pompidou from 24 June to 14 September 2015 through an informative exhibition, Les Images Intranquilles. In her images, a whole people modeling the fixed face, eyes shining but strangely artificial. A captivating work to discover.

The faces of the mannequins have this incredible little trick: the angle of a bone, the curve of an eyebrow or a luscious mouth make them unique, special and intriguing. Valérie Belin plays this mystery by photographing static, expressionless, on white or surrounded patterns.

In larger format, its wraparound pictures sow doubt in the mind of the visitor: is it a real face? Is this a new generation of these robots that resemble in every respect to real human? The plasticity of faces and objects photographed is such that they appear to be made of rubber.
