Magritte: La trahison des images

A fascinating monographic exhibition held in honor of the Belgian Surrealist artist René Magritte and entitled “Magritte: La trahison des images” will be displayed at the famous Parisian monument the Centre Georges Pompidou, until January 23rd, 2017.
Popular for his unique style, Magritte actually succeeded to achieve a remarkable success and become one of the most influential artists of his era. He was best known for his thought-provoking and intriguing paintings such as La trahison des images (1929), from which the name of the exhibition was derived.
The exhibition holds many other noted paintings besides including La lampe philosophique (1936), L’ellipse (1948), as well as Les vacances de Hegel (1958).
“Magritte: La trahison des images” is curated by Didier Ottinger.
