A Night at One of the Most Beautiful Monuments in Paris
From 24 April 2014 to 24 May 2014
Lights and architecture at Les Invalides
A show of light and architecture will be revealed at the beautiful Parisian monument Les Invalides this spring. In a spectacle called 'La Nuit aux Invalides' ('Night at Les Invalides'), the majestic building is transformed into a giant screen onto which the story of its rich history and the great men who represented the power of France is projected.
From Louis XIV to Napoleon to Charles de Gaulle, spectators can learn about major figures in French history all while taking in the beautiful aesthetics of the facades of Les Invalides. More than 250 meters of the facades are included in the event.
Moreover, the show can be followed by a tour of the dome of Les Invalides, another architectural marvel. On the nights of the show, which runs at night from 9:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., the dome will be open to the public until midnight — much later than normal.
La Nuit aux Invalides has been jointly organized by the National Institution of Les Invalides and the French Army Museum. The event will run from April 24 until May 24, 2014. Tickets can be purchased on the website dedicated to the event, which is a must-see for any history or architecture buff.
