Anselm Kiefer: An Exhibition at the Centre Pompidou
From 16 December 2015 to 18 April 2016
Impressed by his father who was an art teacher, Kiefer’s interest in arts began at a very early age. However, he was mostly influenced by German history and the Kabbalah school of thought, a feature that can be clearly discerned in his work.
This retrospective brings to light around 150 stunning works of Kiefer including his valuable paintings Quaternität (1973), Varus (1976), Margarete (1981), and Sulamith (1983). It also comprises plants, old machines, a great number of photographs, as well as the first books that were written by Kiefer.
Anselm Kiefer is curated by Jean-Michel Bouhours.
Wednesday-Monday: From 11 am to 9 pm
