Il trovatore’s New Production: A not-to-be-missed show at Opera Bastille

From 28 January 2016 to 15 March 2016

From January 28th to March 15th, 2016, the great Parisian opera house, Opera Bastille, welcomes you and invites you to attend a new show of Il trovatore, a wonderful opera by the Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi (1813-1901).

This masterpiece’s libretto was first written by Salvadore Cammarano (1801-1852) who was impressed by Antonio García Gutiérrez’s famous play Il trovatore (1836). After Cammarano’s untimely death in July 1852, the libretto of Il trovatore was completed by Leone Emanuele Bardare (1820 -1874), a young Italian librettist.

Il trovatore’s first performance took place on January 19th, 1853, at the Teatro Apollo, which was one of the largest and most renowned Romanian theaters at that time.

This new show of Il trovatore is a joint effort between the brilliant Italian conductor Daniele Callegari and the Spanish director Alex Ollé. It is provided by both French and English surtitles and it will be recorded for television.

If you are staying at Hotel Cambon between January 28th and March 15th and you would like to go to the show, please click here.
