Published: 14 November 2016
From 05 October 2016 to 23 January 2017
Until January 23, 2017, the Réunion des Musées Nationaux - Grand Palais will be presenting an amazing exhibition entitled MEXIQUE (1900–1950).
Organized in collaboration with the Musée National d’Art, and the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes of Mexico, this exhibition is, in fact, the largest event to be held in honor of Mexican art since 1953.
On this occasion, a selection of the most fascinating artworks which are considered emblematic of Mexican traditions is on display, including popular paintings by the surrealist self-taught painter Frida Kahlo (1907 – 1954), her husband the Mexican Muralist painter Diego Rivera (1886 – 1957), and the famous Mexican modernist artist who was best-known for his works which sheds light on the Zapotec heritage Rufino Tamayo (1899 – 1991).
MEXIQUE (1900–1950) is an interesting exhibition that is not to be missed. So, if you’re staying at our Hotel Cambon, don’t hesitate to visit it. The Galeries Nationales du Grand Palais is actually not too far from the hotel. It is just a few minutes’ walk!
