Monet-Auburtin. An Artistic Encounter
Published: 07 March 2019
From 20 March 2019 to 14 July 2019
Monet is one of the most celebrated landscape painters in France, and with good reason. His work captures the essence of a scene with beautiful attention to the subject and the light. The French master created brilliant works as he travelled around the country, with a keen interest in the landscapes of Belle-Île, Étretat, Pourville, Varengeville and Provence.
The Musée des impressionnismes Giverny is planning a show for the Spring that celebrates these works in all their glory. The pieces will sit alongside others from contemporary Jean Francis Auburtin as a form of comparison.
This show is a brilliant opportunity for art enthusiasts to see these paintings under one roof and to compare the styles and depictions of these famous scenes. While some will be drawn to Monet as the major name, many will be surprised by the work of Auburtin.
The exhibition starts on March 22nd and continues until July 14th.
