The Fondation Cartier Recalls 30 Years of Creative Exhibits
From 10 May 2014 to 21 September 2014
Vivid memories of contemporary art
The Fondation Cartier, a space dedicated to contemporary art and new ways of thinking, celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. As such, the foundation has put together an event that honors the many diverse exhibitions that it has held over the years.
From May 10 until September 21, 2014, the Fondation Cartier is presenting 'Vivid Memories: 30 Years of Stories.' The exhibition recounts the story of an institution that was established on October 20, 1984 by the luxury brand Cartier.
Patti Smith, Cesar and David Lynch are just a few of the names of figures who have been displayed at the Fondation Cartier. Photography, film, sculpture, music, digital art and more will be presented as part of the legacy of the Parisian institution, which is known for its unconventional programs.
Moreover, the works on display will change every week, allowing for multiple visits of the exhibition. The works will be replaced by other works from the same artist — so that visitors can appreciate the evolution of the artist's vision — as well as works from artists that were not displayed the week before. As a result, 'Vivid Memories' is a living exhibition reflecting the dynamism of the Fondation Cartier.
