Until January 5, 2015 "Musée de l'Orangerie" will be hosting the "Émile Bernard" exhibition which represents a great opportunity to discover a list of 150 Bernard's works.

Émile Bernard, who is a French Post-Impressionist painter, writer, poet and art critic, is a key figure in the development of modern art.

He was the one who inaugurated the cloisonnist style in the late 80s; This technique was taken over, later, by his friends Gauguin and Van Gogh.

This highly anticipated exhibition will be the first to retrace the entire career of this pioneering artist, since its beginning with symbolism, his exile to Egypt and finally his return to France. Though he was considered, at a certain point, to have a complex and an anxious personality, and not recognized at the height of his pictorial inventions.

A one plus one reason to attend this exhibition is that every 1st Sunday of the month (the 7th of December), some of the capital's museums, including Musée de l’Orangerie, open their doors and access to their collections for free. Here's a great opportunity for the guests staying at Cambon Hotel to discover and enjoy Bernard's works, especially for it is within a walking distance (10 minutes) from the hotel.
