Maurice Denis and Eugène Delacroix – From Studio to Museum

Bouquet de fleurs, Eugène Delacroix

From 03 May 2017 to 28 August 2017

Until August 28, 2017, the Musée National Eugène-Delacroix Paris will be presenting an exhibition aiming at bringing to light the deep devotion of some renowned artists of the early 20th century to save the last studio of the French Romantic artist Eugène-Delacroix and create the museum that today bears his name.

Maurice Denis, who became President of the Société des Amis d'Eugène Delacroix and significantly contributed in protecting and transforming Delacroix's last apartment into a magnificent museum dedicated to his work, is one of the most important figures whose role was fundamental in preserving Delacroix's legacy. Some of his works are displayed, on this occasion, at the Musée Delacroix, in an attempt to show the audiences, the artistic parallels between him and Delacroix.

Set in the 6th arrondissement of Paris, near the Église de Saint Germain des Prés, and being home to unique and rare pieces by Delacroix, the museum is truly worth a visit. So, if you are in the area, consider attending the exhibition and exploring the place where the artist resided in his later life.

Hotel Cambon wishes you a nice and wonderful stay!
