Robert Doisneau Welcomed by Les Halles Marketplace
From 01 July 2013 to 31 August 2013
The world of a legendary photographer
The famous French photographer Robert Doisneau is being celebrated at the Forum des Halles from the beginning of July until the end of August 2013. After a successful run at the Parisian landmark and town hall, Hôtel de Ville, an exhibition dedicated to Doisneau is being welcomed in another neighborhood, in the 1st arrondissement of Paris. At the heart of Paris, the photographer's talent for capturing a sense of movement and whimsy is on full display. Les Halles, a neighborhood in the middle of a complete transformation itself, is the perfect place to discover the Doisneau exhibition, which acts like a time machine transporting spectators to a different time and place. Almost 100 photographs are revealed in an impressively large format. Visitors can therefore discover these shots from the 1930s blown up to huge sizes and in high quality. The marketplace at Les Halles held special significance for Doisneau, who expressed his own vision through photographs of this location. In addition to Doisneau's photographic vision, the exhibition will also include photographs of Les Halles from 1933 until 1979, revealing the various iterations the famous market has seen throughout the years. Bringing together history and art, the Robert Doisneau exhibition at Les Halles promises to be both amusing and informative.
