From 17 September 2016 to 18 October 2016

From September 17 until October 18, 2016, Opera Bastille is opening to view an opera performance that brings to light Tosca, one of the prolific operatic composer Giacomo Puccini’s most extraordinary musical masterpieces.

Tosca was actually written in collaboration with the renowned Italian composer and pianist Franco Alfano. It was first performed on January 14, 1900, at the Teatro Costanzi opera house, in Rome.
Adapted from the French dramatist Victorien Sardou's dramatic play, La Tosca (1887), this great artistic work’s libretto was written by both Luigi Illica and Giuseppe Giacosa.
The cast, led by conductor Dan Ettinger, includes Anja Harteros, Liudmyla Monastyrska, Marcelo Alvarez, Bryn Terfel, Alexander Tsymbalyuk, Sergey Artamonov, Jean-Philippe Lafont, Carlo Bosi, André Heyboer, and Pierpaolo Palloni
Tosca has a preliminary run time of 2 hours and 50 minutes including 2 intervals.
